At one year Ms. Lena can walk, attempt a run, sing, dance, talks all the time (we don't always understand it) is a complete Mommy's girl, but I am sure that will change, loves tv and getting into the cabinets, can play for hours on end, is obsessed with all things Elmo, enjoys and egg for breakfast and the occasional yogurt, sleeps in her crib all night, could take baths constantly, is trying really hard to drink out of regular glasses, loves talking on the phone...to anyone, and is her Mommy and Daddy's sunshine!

We love you Lena Belle!! You have made our lives more beautiful just by being in it! Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

17 weeks!!

Total weight gain/loss: Still no clue! I have some appointments coming up, so I will know for sure soon! However I did wear a pair of prepreggo jeans to our pictures Sat. and they were a little lose on me! How does that even happen when there is a bump there!!??

Stretch marks? No new ones! Yet!

Sleep: I always sleep better on the weekends...when Josh is here!

Best moment this week: I bought some new baby bedding! It's green and would probably work for a boy or a girl, but haven't decided if I will keep it for a girl or take it back and find something new!! hmmm

Movement: Starting to pick up!

Food cravings: Eggs...I can't get enough!!

Gender: No clue....I don't even have a crazy instict! I did at first, but now I just can't tell. With Lena I constantly refered to her as a girl...I just knew!

Labor Signs: No, thank the good Lord!

Belly Button in or out? In, but it's squishy...weird!

Wedding rings on or off? Both on!

What I miss: Nothing! I am pretty content with my amazing life right now!

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender, painting the nursery, deciding for sure on a name...all the fun stuff!!

Weekly Wisdom: Do a workout every morning! Even if it's something minor, it makes the world of difference in the way you feel the rest of the day! I skimped on this the last week, due to illness with both Lena and I...and after our walk tonight I can't wait to jump back into it!

Milestones: We finally got some family pictures made!! It's been a year since the last, and I wanted to record this time with just the three of us! I'm sure I won't be able to remember what it was like in a few months!!

Monday, March 7, 2011

16 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: No idea!! Again, I don't believe in scales in the home! I feel that if you love yourself and are comfortable in your skin, then the numbers don't matter! (of course I also believe in being healthy!)

Maternity clothes? We have arrived!! I can get into my prepreggo clothing, but I just look like an oversized stuffed sausage, and no one wants to see that!

Stretch marks? No new ones! Yet!

Sleep: Depends. There's the growing achy pains, an 11 month old waking up, a dog who insists on sleeping ON me, and a hubs that can't stay on his side of the bed!! hmm

Best moment this week: Ms. Belle is walking!! YAY, but on a pregnancy note, I am def. feeling the little bean moving around!

Movement: Starting to pick up!

Food cravings: Grill cheese and PBandJ!!

Gender: We will know soon!! I wish I was one of those people whoe could wait for the surprise, but I would just be unbearable after having the baby and trying to get everything together! LoL, I would never put my poor hubby through that! I like being in control waay too much!

Labor Signs: No, thank the good Lord!

Belly Button in or out? In, but it feels weird

Wedding rings on or off? Both on!

What I miss: Letting Lena sleep on me! With the growing belly, and the pressure of her it's just not possible anymore!

What I am looking forward to: Seeing our families next month! I am debating if I am going to wait to tell them gender when we see them! haha, my mother might throw a fit though!! :0)

Weekly Wisdom: Just do it! The longer you sit and be lazy, and put something off...the harder it becomes to just get up and do it!

Milestones: I ordered some new preggo clothes...hopefully they will be here today or tomorrow!!

I'm learning....

(this is in regards to my previous post)

So this whole being a mommy thing is still slightly new! And maybe that's because Lena changes on a day to day basis, which means the rules change also! While I am still pretty "uptight" about certain things, I have calmed down quite a bit!

I can absolutely remember feeling guilty for putting Lena in her swing to watch Baby Einstein while I would get ready. I felt horrible that she was basically strapped down and unable to do anything but stare mindlessly into the t.v. But she LOVED it, and I felt better because I took the time to get ready! Isn't it crazy what a shower and a little bit of makeup can do for your day to day moral!!??

I can also remember the first time she bumped her head on something! I was sent into a whirlwind of emotion, I think I even cried, and was soo afraid she had a cuncussion!! Now the child hits her head on something DAILY! She's a baby, just learning how to get around, and this is what they do!

On a personal note....I am in no mood for the "naughty" come bed time! And as a wife, I often find myself feeling guilty for this! But remember, I am 15 weeks pregnant, running around after an 11 month old, usually smell of pee, and baby food, hair in a ratty pony tail, etc etc etc. To want it, a woman has to feel sexy, and while Motherhood is beautiful and amazing....it does not make me feel sexy!!

I felt like such a failure when I quit breastfeeding Lena! And I LOVED doing it. After the biopsy I wasn't able to feed off of my right for a bit, and then I had a disc slip in my back, meaning I couldn't comfortably hold Lena to feed her. While I did pump (which I HATED) it wasn't enough. I quickly discovered how nice it was to be able to share that part of "bonding" (aka nightly feedings) with my husband! For the first time in MONTHS I was getting a full nights sleep...in shifts, but nonetheless it was amazing!

I also worried about what to feed Lena when we first started her on solids. Luckily she's not picky and there's really only a problem when her gums hurt! I quickly came to the conclusion that she will eat what she wants, and I have got to learn to deal with that. It's better for her to eat something then nothing at all!

So basically I am learning to relax, and take better care of myself! I am a much better mommy when I am relaxed, bathed, have a clean mouth etc!! My marriage is also much more enjoyable when I let things slide! Being that uptight with two little ones, well I don't think I would have survived....more likely I might have ended up in a straight jacket, courtesy of the hubs!! ;0)

Feeling Guilty...

One of my best friends, Emily, sent me this in an email this morning! I just had to share....

Parenting.com) -- We could probably come up with about 200 things to not feel guilty about, but then we would just feel guilty about never feeling guilty at all. This list will give you the general idea of what kinds of not-exactly-maternal feelings are within limits, and what childcare chores you can cheat on now and then.

1. Wanting to stay home with your baby.

2. Loving your job.

3. Hating your husband now and then.

4. Still not wanting sex -- way, way, way after your six-week checkup.

Parenting.com: Completely ridiculous parenting products

5. Not reading to your baby as much as all the experts say you should.

6. Introducing a bottle as soon as you get home from the hospital (even though you're not sure your milk supply is established yet) so you can get some sleep.

7. Supplementing with formula at any time.

8. Lying to the other women in your mommy group about how long your baby sleeps at night (but you will get more sympathy if you tell the truth).

Parenting.com: 8 discipline mistakes even great parents make

9. Not keeping up with all the milestones you're supposed to be recording in your baby book.

10. Never even starting the baby book.

11. Saying, "Great idea -- I'll try it!" to your mother-in-law's advice when you have absolutely no intention of giving it an iota of thought once she walks out the door.

12. Telling your partner you're going to the doctor for a checkup when you're actually going for a massage, pedicure, or to have your hair highlighted (it's not like he's going to notice anyway).

Parenting.com: The best remedies for rude tween behavior

13. Paying cash for your massage/pedicure/highlights so he won't discover the credit card charge.

14. Refusing another mom's invitation to a playdate because you can't stand it that she can leave crystal on her coffee table and toilet paper on the rollers and her baby doesn't bother any of it.

15. Feeling a twinge of delight when the above mom's baby still isn't saying any words and yours has a vocabulary of six!

16. Putting on the Baby Einstein DVD for the third time before lunch so you can apply some makeup because that cute landscaping guy is due to come by and cut your grass sometime this afternoon (just because you don't want to have sex doesn't mean you're dead).

Parenting.com: The best tools to de-clutter your life

17. Wanting to spend Mother's Day alone instead of with your family.

18. Going to visit your parents for the weekend because you know they will insist on doing everything for the baby and your mother will cook all your favorite foods for you. (Grandmothers can spoil their own children as well as their grandchildren.)

19. Napping when the baby naps even though he's nine months old.

20. Driving your baby home from the mall with poop in his diaper because the bathroom is all the way at the other end and you know he couldn't care less anyway.

I will admit to doing a few of these, but I won't tell you which ones! ;0)

Is it just me or does this pregnancy seem to be flying by...in comparison!!??

Total weight gain/loss: Hmm...not sure! I don't keep a scale at home! But again, while my belly is growing my other parts seem to be trimming up! I have also been doing daily workouts every single morning!!

Maternity clothes? Getting there! My jeans are for sure becoming uncomfortable to wear now. I just placed an order with Old Navy, so I am looking forward to getting some cute spring/summer clothes in!!

Stretch marks? No new ones!

Sleep: Yes, I am getting some now!! I am finding that I wake up a little sore in the belly area! I forgot about that!!

Best moment this week: hmmm...hardly any morning sickness whatsoever!! YAY

Movement: Very little!

Food cravings: Sandwiches and salads! I was having a major craving for some Panera, which was fulfilled this past weekend!!

Gender: We will know this month!!

Labor Signs: None so far, but I did forget how uncomfortable ligament pains can be!

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? Both on!

What I miss: Being able to drink a soda or lemonade without anyy pain! I have began having horrible acid! Ugh!

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender and getting the bedroom all done!!

Weekly Wisdom: If you wake up and tell yourself you are going to be in a good mood....chances you will!!

Milestones: I am starting to look pregnant!!
